SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsibilities include general laborer duties including but not limited to loading and unloading trucks, equipment operation, and sanitation and housekeeping.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Warehouse sanitation including cleaning the dock, or room areas
  • General warehouse housekeeping and sanitation including ice removal, sweeping cleanup of dock freezer and or parking area operating scrubbing machine, and aiding in the general organization of the warehouse
  • Desalting, or slatting of product
  • Loading and unloading of containers via hand, or forklift
  • Pallet inventory control and organization
  • Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without a Visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to effectively operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out simple instructions from oral instructions or written correspondence
  • Must be able to work in a cold/hot environment
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Ability to work overtime during the week, and on weekends
  • Able to become forklift certified

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The work environment involves hazards, risks, or discomforts typical of working around with or around machinery with exposed moving parts, arrant chemicals, heavy equipment, extreme heights, or abusive or hostile clientele and patients. Exposure to disagreeable weather conditions and extreme levels of temperature, ventilation, lighting, and sound is normal. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Position Summary

Program Summary:

The Women's Rise is a residential work release program providing case management, job readiness, and substance and mental health education to adult females who are under the supervision of DOC. We help women rise as they reenter their communities.

Position Summary:

The Residential Aide is responsible for direct client care. This includes activities of daily living and providing support for safety, health, and wellness. This position also assists program staff. The ideal candidate will establish, develop, and maintain respectful relationships with the people served. The Residential Aide will participate in maintaining a safe, harm-free environment for all residents.

Working within Adult Services, the Residential Aide works with Community Justice program staff to help to rehabilitate, educate, and successfully guide clients from incarceration back into the community.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2+ years relevant experience as a Residential Aide or equivalent
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License

The Associate Direct Support Manager plays a key role in managing the operations of the Residential and Day Services Programs. Responsibilities include coordinating activities, documenting the progress of the people we serve, maintaining the facility, and preparing meals.

Handle house petty cash and individual finances, including purchasing groceries or supplies as needed.
Oversee the maintenance of the residential facilities and transportation vehicles.
