We are hiring immediately energetic and outgoing Employment Specialists to join the Ability Beyond Career Development Team! In this role, you will be responsible for assisting individuals with developmental disabilities to find integrated, competitive employment in their community. You will be positively impacting the lives of others every day by helping the individuals we serve achieve their career goals. This is an ISTPP (Industry Specific Training & Placement Program) Employment Specialist position in the New Haven area.

We offer a generous benefit package and an opportunity for growth within this position on the Career Development Team after the first year of employment.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Screening applicants for training program and setting up program placements.
• Building and maintaining relationships with local businesses to meet potential and ongoing placement goals.
• Supporting individuals on your caseload with goal setting, job training, skill building and workplace etiquette.
• Partnering with specific industries and developing related curriculum for training program participants. Responsible for 3-4 program participants for rotations of 4-7 weeks (both in classroom and a the work site).
• Providing job coaching, mentoring and training at the work site. Assisting in the supervisor's conversations and feedback, to better support individuals maintaining employment.
