Minimum 6 months - 1 year of experience (preferably more) working as a counter service cashier and/or server (waiter) in a fast paced breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner environment. Other customer service experience will be considered as well.
Must be available to work fluctuating schedule - 3-6 days a week (depending on store needs) be able to cover various shifts as needed. MUST be able to work nights and weekends .
Job Functions Include:
- Taking customer orders at the counter during breakfast and lunch
- Accurately entering orders into POS system
- Accurately reading tickets from kitchen and assembling orders to be served
- Serving customers and running food to tables
- Making espresso and coffee drinks, scooping ice cream, making smoothies, etc.
- Restock coolers, displays, cases, refrigerators, storage areas, front end, and dry storage room.
- Use preparatory utensils such as knives, pans, and slicers on a regular basis
- Communicate with other servers in a professional manner regarding customer orders
- Follow portion and quality control standards of the menu
- Ensure all leftover/unused food products are stored/restocked or disposed of properly
- Examine, label and store incoming food supplies in storage and refrigeration areas appropriately
- Maintain work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations
- Maintain food product inventory and notifies owner of any shortages
- Report any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including all manner of restaurant "side work"
Requirements:
- Self-starter who regularly takes initiative
- Must be able to work independently without direction
- Ability to regularly lift packages that weigh 50+ pounds
- Ability to stretch to reach high shelves or bend to reach low cabinets
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (during entire 8+ hour shifts)
- Ability to effectively communicate with other members of the kitchen staff in a loud, busy environment.
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be over the age of 18 (for insurance reasons, need to use knives, etc)
All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US & have reliable transportation to & from work.
Salary is commensurate with experience and may change depending on job functions.
