Dispatcher (West Haven, CT)

This is an intense position that would put you at the heart of the company's operations.

•Check in with all drivers one hour prior to scheduled run and ensure that I/Cs are fully cognizant of all time commitments
•Continuously monitors scheduled drivers to ensure on-time routing
•Enter all relevant information of assigned work completely and accurately into the computer system.
•Ensure all manifests/paperwork is completed properly and filed for future reference
•Ensure the integrity of all routes and route sheets
•Oversee driver appearance and make certain all drivers are properly equipped and attired as per our clients requirements
•Maintains 1099 fleet by professionally and respectfully assisting 1099's in their pursuit of maximizing their commissions and meeting the service requirements of our customers
•Act as a liaison between I/C, customers, and our company to resolve any issues
•Communicate problems or potential problems with your direct Supervisor
•Proactively communicate with direct Supervisor when need arises to recruit I/Cs prior to service failure
•Maintains strong relationships with our clients
•Maintains strong relationships with our 1099's
•Assist Onsite Dispatchers/Field Reps and support the overall business
•Maintain positive and professional relationships with ALL employees of our company.
•Other Duties as assigned by direct Supervisor.

Essential characteristics for this position include the ability to multitask quickly, handle multiple phone lines, great follow up skills, common sense, time management and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and co-workers.

Time management skills, the ability to handle pressure and deadlines are crucial.

Also, some administrative skills (filing, organization, experience with Microsoft Office) are needed.
