POSITION SUMMARY:
The Youth Program Facilitator provides direct services to youth while
also assisting with recruitment, marketing, community involvement, and
case management services and the provision of basic needs services at
the Family Center.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead grade-specific and/or topic-specific group programs at the Centro San Jose and/or its partner schools during the after school program.
- Recruit and maintain targeted number of participants in the after school program
- Assists in the provision of basic needs services (i.e. food pantry enrollment, setup/distribution, SNAP outreach and enrollment)
- Keep complete and up-to-date individual and group activity records.
- Complete all paperwork required by agency
- Attends all relevant trainings and meetings
- Additional duties as assigned
- Responsibilities may change to fit program needs

PQI Functions
- Ensure the consistent accurate collection of the data
- Identify patterns and trends of administrative services
- Use results of data to inform supervisor of trends that may impact services
- Associates Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
- At least one year paid and/or volunteer experience working with urban children and youth in after-school, youth development or case management programs
- Group facilitation and/or teaching skills
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Strong computer skills
- Must work in a developmental, community and family focused manner. Must value the differences and integration of cultural attitudes, beliefs, and practices into programming.
- The candidate must have high levels of personal characteristics including, but not limited to the following: enthusiasm, competency, empathy, and warmth. The candidate must also be firm but fair, encourage self-efficacy and model pro-social beliefs.
