Student Accounts Counselor
One Stop Student Financial and Registrar Services

SEARCH DESCRIPTION:
The Student Accounts Counselor will contribute to the Office of Student Accounts by being part of a team that provides frontline customer support and service regarding student accounts inquiries. The counselor will also be the primary point of contact for students and other customers. This contact will include phone calls, emails, in person meetings and Zoom meetings.
CORE DUTIES:
- Support the Office of Student Accounts by providing exceptional service to students and other customers in person, online, and via phone and email
- Support internal customers with Student Accounts related issues
- Produce reports identifying trends and issues related to customer service
- Propose innovative solutions to issues identified during customer contact
- Collaborate with other departments to assist students and other customers
- Research process improvements and implement efficiencies
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and resource sharing across the Office of Student Accounts and other Enrollment Services areas
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Support the overall operation of the One Stop Student Financial and Registrar Services Office
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and two to four years of experience in a Student Accounts Office preferred – equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Administrative experience in higher education desired
- Experience with Banner preferred
- Experience working with difficult customers is required
- Professional presentation and demeanor is required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to enhancing the internal and external customer experience is required
- Ability to manage complex matters appropriately while meeting the needs of the customer and the University
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams is required
- Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and advance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently, utilize discretion and judgment daily, and take individual initiative as well as the ability to work as a collaborative team member
- Must be fully vaccinated in order to be in compliance with University policies regarding travel
