SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Incumbent must handle baggage, express and company materials and be
qualified to operate electrical and battery powered equipment and
elevators. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of
receiving, delivering, and forwarding of passenger’s baggage. Applicants
should be familiar with Parcel Checks and will be held responsible for
collection and depositing any Amtrak revenue he/she receives during
their tour of duty. Revenue includes that which is collected from excess
baggage, storage charges, transfers, COD’s, temporary checking, Amtrak
Express, prepaid delivery, excess valuations, etc. Incumbent must assist
passengers on movement of parcels and luggage within the station and
must be able to lift 50 pounds. Incumbent must be able to read, write
and have a thorough knowledge of the physical layout of the station.
Incumbent must have high school diploma, prefer two years of college or
work equivalency. Employees must conform to The Code of Ethics and
Standards for Behavior and prescribed code of dress.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) high school equivalency diploma.
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Hours and rest days may be adjusted for training purposes. Vacation previously selected may not be honored.

receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or 14 days
since receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
In accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR § 40.25), Amtrak is required
to obtain prior drug and alcohol testing records for
applicants/employees intending to perform safety-sensitive duties for
covered Department of Transportation positions. If an applicant/employee
refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records,
the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive
functions.

if you have an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience.
