Good Morning,
We would like to introduce you to ACE(Accelerating
Connections to Employment Initiative), an innovative new training program that
Gateway Community College in partnership with Workforce Alliance, and the
CTWorks Career Center is offering in the fall. You have expressed
interest in applying for one of the two career tracks being offered.
Patient Care Technician Training includes courses,
and clinical work in Certified Nurse Aide, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy, eligible
students who meet all qualifications are allowed to sit for the exams, leading
to certification as a Patient Care Technician. The other ACE program is
Certified Professional Food and Beverage Server, which can lead to a career in
top-rated restaurants.
Please note: This is part of a national study, with a limited number of available spots for participants in the program. Qualified participants will be selected through a lottery process. Applicants who aren’t selected into ACE will be offered other CTWorks Career Center programs and opportunities.
The first step in applying for the ACE Training Study is attending
orientation. During orientation you will
learn more information about the program, completely the necessary paper work
and be given a basic skills assessment.
You will also be informed on general information regarding CTWorks, One
Stop Career Centers programs and opportunities.
The orientations will be held at Gateway
Community College at 20 Church Street in downtown New Haven, CT.
This project is funded by the US Department of Labor under
contract #IF-23245-12-61-A-24. It is part of a national evaluation being
conducted by Abt Associates (Bethesda, MD).
The ACE evaluation is being conducted by ICF International (Fairfax, VA)
and the evaluation design has been reviewed and approved by the ICF
Institutional Review Board, #4292013.

From the North (Hartford)
1.
Take I-91 S toward New Haven / New
York City.
2.
Entering New Haven, keep right to
remain on 91 South and take exit 1 to merge onto CT-34 toward Downtown New
Haven.
3.
Take exit 1, your first right
off-ramp, to merge onto N Frontage Rd.
