Hedge trimmers
Lawn crew
Must have experience to be considered with a valid drivers lic
compensation: 13.50/hr
part-time
• Lots of yard work. Mowing, raking, weed whacking, spraying, planting, digging up rocks, moving light tree limbs and logs etc.
• Light painting, preparing surfaces, scrapping, priming. I may do some heavy duty painting too. I haven't decided.
• Getting ready for some large tag sales of household items, tools, books and lots of etc.
• Installing a generator. I am the expert here but I may need some help pulling wires etc. I need help preparing, moving and tagging items. Also installing a garage door opener and an artic fan.
• Lots of clean up stuff. Sweeping, vacuuming etc.
• Some outside and inside repairing. Some carpentry skills would be very desirable.
• Some mechanical stuff. That is, I need some one who is good with their hands.
• In general I have lots of work and some of it can be done in the shade on a hot day or when it is raining inside or whatever.
• Bottom line, I have hundreds of hours of work that could extend months.
Who I need:
• Someone who is first and foremost dependable. Must have a way to get to Stanley Road Hamden. Age, race or gender of applicant doesn't matter.
• You must have a couple of references that are not relatives or friends. Preferably, people who you worked for or if you are young a teacher or mentor.
• I am told that I am a nice guy to work with and that if you do your job you will enjoy working with me. You will probably also learn a lot. My background is engineer and computer science. (I am not up-to-date on the latter.) I know carpentering, electrical, building and more. A substantial portion of the house we will be working on was built by me and not finished by the same character. Woe is me.
• In return I need a person that is easy to work with and somebody who could be a selling asset at my tag sales. Grouches need not apply.
• Bottom line #2. This could be rewarding and fun for both of us.
Pesky Details
• Compensation: Low to mid level experience $8-10/hr. More experience: to $12/hr.
• Minimum hours per day: 4hr. Max 10hr. If you work 4 or more hours, and want to you may take a ½ hour break. (I will always supply plenty of ice and cold and delicious well water.) In any 4-hour work period you will be entitled to a paid 20 minute break. If you decide not to take the break you will be paid for the 20 minutes. That is, you will get paid for 4 hours and 20 minutes if you don't take a break. (Not advisable.) I personally have to take short breaks and like company. These will not be consider break time for you.
• Your mobile phone use must be limited to incoming emergency calls only. On your break, of course, make or receive any call you want.
• Pay will be by check only. It will just be written from me to you and will not indicate in any way that you were paid for your labor. In any 7 day period I will withhold the last days pay, but this day's pay will be part of your next check. (I want you to show up again.)
• If in the 1st week you need cash advances (up to 2 hours) let me know. It can be for all but 1 hours of the time worked to date.
• Bottom line #3, there will probably be more bottom lines in the furture.
