EMERGE Orientation - April 7, 2015

EMERGE Orientation

EMERGE Connecticut, Inc. is a Transitional Work Training Program with the goal of providing recently released ex-offenders in the Greater New Haven area with the opportunity to end the pattern of recidivism.  EMERGE crew members are offered paid, part-time training in construction, landscaping and property management while at the same time engaging in an array of unpaid program
components designed to promote behavioral change.  This combination of  on-the-job training and program services has proven successful with New Haven’s re-entry population since July of 2011.

Through EMERGE’s “Community Offender Re-Entry Experience” (C.O.R.E.),Participants have a chance to:
-Work part-time learning new skills in construction, landscaping and property management through paid “On the Job Training” with our EMERGE work crews.
-Improve on literacy and numeracy skills in our classroom training facility.

-Learn what employers are looking for in today’s job market in our Employability Workshop.

-Participate in Parenting classes, “Real Talk” group discussions and One-on-One Life Coaching to develop better decision-making skills, and plan a sustainable future.
