Clelian Adult Day Center in Hamden is looking for a reliable, organized, enthusiastic individual with knowledge of working with seniors with dementia and Alzheimer's to join our compassionate care team as a Memory Care Engagement Assistant on a part-time basis.

Job responsibilities will include:

Working cooperatively with the Recreation Director and Recreation Assistant to develop engaging recreational activities for our memory care members.

Creating sensory stimulation activities, creative movement exercises and other programming meant to offer mental and physical enrichment.

Assisting Recreation Director with creation of monthly activity calendars

Ensuring that members are treated with dignity and respect and responding with empathy and patience to member needs

A two year college degree and minimum one year experience working in a related environment is required. Candidate must have experience working with seniors who have cognitive decline issues such as dementia or Alzheimer's diagnosis. Must be dependable, creative, and willing to work as part of a team. First aid and CPR certification must be obtained within a month of beginning the position, if not already certified. CDP certification a plus. Hours: 10am-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. No weekends, nights or major holidays.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $32,000.00 per year
