Package Delivery Drivers:


$21.00/Hour and up, depending on location and shift


UPS is accepting applications for temporary, seasonal full-time Package Delivery Drivers. This is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. A DOT physical exam is required. Package Delivery Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills. Some UPS facilities may require the ability to drive a delivery vehicle with a standard (manual) transmission. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s license issued in the state that they live. Package Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.

Full-time UPS employees work eight or more hours per day and workdays can vary (Monday - Friday) or (Tuesday - Saturday) depending on the building needs.

- This job requires bending, lifting, stretching, and step ladder use. You need to be able to move up to 40lb since some of our balloon frames and bases are heavy.

-Enthusiasm about getting to know our products and colors. Sell the right products to each client (listen to them). We aren’t really retail since most of our products are made to order.

-Learn how to inflate balloons for retail and also create our designs for events. This can be a fast paced environment at times, so learning to work fast and efficiently is important.

-Accurately take orders, take payment and send invoices. Correctly document all details of the event and decor ordered. Understand the limitations of our deigns.

-Assist loading the van for deliveries

-Put new product away and maintain inventory.

-Be neat and organized. Light cleaning is required. Organizing, vacuuming, cleaning surfaces and generally just being neat and cleaning up after yourself.

Night Shift Sanitation Worker

Assist with various warehouse functions as needed included but not limited to cleaning, sanitation and unloading trucks etc. The position will entail operating machinery (i.e. Power Pallet Jacks & Wakie/Rider), cardboard baler, trashcompactor) in a safe manner.

  • Five Nights Work Week – Saturday Nights Off

Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of warehouse inside and out including trash pickup and disposal.

Monitoring "problem" areas for ice and water buildup and removing the hazards as they arise.

Assist in breaking down palletized deliveries from suppliers. Stocking/restocking and re-slotting of product.

Use of machinery including Power Pallet Jacks, cardboard baler, trash compactor and floor scrubber.

Maintain communication with coworkers and supervisors.

Report to work on time as scheduled. Pay attention to detail. Follow directions precisely.

Utilize proper safety equipment. Keep area clean and organized. Sweeping, dusting and/or mopping as needed.

Maintain Food Safety standards regarding cleanliness and hygiene. May select product for special orders.

Assist with unloading trucks. Break down and/or build pallets.

Work Environment Indoor Temp - 10 through 50 degrees.

Position Requirements:

Shelter Case Manager

VEVRAA Federal Contractor: Priority Referrals of Protected Veterans Requested

Purpose

To provide case management to homeless shelter residents; to network with the greater New Haven shelter system and mental health/substance abuse/social/medical/housing service systems; to collaborate with clinicians and other service providers as well as other Columbus House Case Managers; to manage, link to services, support housing search; to empower residents.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree with 3 years relevant work experience required as well as a valid Driver’s License and excellent writing skills. Must have full understanding of and able to effectively use the local network of substance abuse, mental health, and social services providers. Familiar with criminal justice and able to engage, manage, motivate, and support. Time management skills and computer literate with a deadline- oriented mindset. Able to meet all documentation requirements; complete knowledge base of all aspects of the delivery of person-centered case management. Able to assess strengths, barriers, and needs to assist clients in identifying personal goals, values and priorities, ability to advocate for consumers. Familiar with mental health, substance abuse and dual diagnosis issues and group dynamics; capacity to work within a team and foster teamwork. Flexible, able to seek out opportunities for clients to lead fulfilling lives. Crisis intervention skills, boundaries, confidentiality, universal precautions, harm reduction, strong empathetic skills. Responsibilities

Case manages 25 shelter residents; provide front door assessments and diversion as part of the Coordinated Access Network. Service and engage consumers weekly at minimum or as needed, building a trusting working relationship. When appropriate, make referrals to agencies for SA/MH, medical, vocational, educational or housing needs. Link consumers with entitlement providers as needed. Occasionally provide transportation to medical/clinical appointments using agency provided vehicles. Network with other providers that may be working with the consumer. Complete all required documentation accurately and timely, including reporting all contacts and maintaining consumers’ charts. Input all required client-related data into computer database program completely, accurately and in timely fashion. Participate in staff meetings, training, individual supervision and other related meetings. Facilitate weekly group meetings addressing relapse prevention and life skills in addition to a weekly house meeting. Advocate for client in regulatory and legal settings as required. Ensure random weekly toxicological tests on consumers. Other related duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours, flexible 9am-5pm, with one late night (10:00 am to

6:00 pm or 11:00 am to 7:00 pm).
