EHM provides affordable, quality housing across Connecticut and is committed to creating supportive communities. We’re searching for a multi‑site Administrative Assistant to keep our operations running smoothly and help our teams deliver outstanding service.
Position: Administrative Assistant (Bethlehem, Terryville & Kent, CT)
Reports to: Property Manager
Employment Status: Full‑time, Non‑exempt (office & clerical)
Location: Traveling between properties in Hartford and Newington, CT. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and edit a range of documents—correspondence, regulatory forms, reports, proposals, meeting minutes, newsletters and public‑relations materials.
- Develop and maintain organized filing systems (digital and hard copy) for resident applications, regulatory records, board minutes and other site documentation.
- Serve as the first point of contact for residents and vendors: answer and direct calls, greet visitors, handle mail, and coordinate calendars/meetings.
- Maintain office inventories and order supplies; arrange for repairs and service to equipment as authorized.
- Support housing‑management projects such as processing applications, updating resident documentation and maintaining compliance records.
- Provide basic bookkeeping assistance, such as preparing time sheets and daily logs; ensure records are accurate and complete.
- Be available as an emergency contact after hours and assist with other tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Must‑Have Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience or training in general office procedures.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills; able to interact politely and professionally in person and by phone.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage tasks across multiple locations.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel; Publisher a plus).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between Bethlehem, Terryville and Kent properties.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Familiarity with property management, affordable housing or similar regulatory environments.
- Basic bookkeeping/accounting experience.
