Job Overview
Yale Health, the multidisciplinary healthcare organization of Yale University, is seeking a Temporary Medical Assistant to support its Acute Care and Diagnostic Imaging departments. This is a 6 month temporary assignment. The schedule for this temporary position is: Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm
Serving more than 50,000 members—including students, faculty, staff, and their families, Yale Health has been a trusted provider to the Yale community for over 50 years. Comprehensive care is delivered at its state-of-the-art facility located at 55 Lock Street, where more than 150 providers offer comprehensive services. The 144,000-square-foot medical center has over 90 exam rooms, an Acute Care Department, and a 15-bed inpatient unit full diagnostic imaging suite—offering MRI, CT scans, X-ray, and ultrasound services—as well as a full-service retail pharmacy.
Duties
· Greet patients and visitors either in person or on the telephone, answer or direct inquiries.
· Prepare patients for examinations and provide chaperone assistance.
· Schedule appointments using Epic, requesting patient charts, medical records and lab reports.
· Facilitate patient flow and adherence to clinical schedules. Maintain exam rooms.
· Provide coverage and support for appointment desks. Compile and post department specific information.
· Provide patients with information related to section and procedures. Assist patients in completing forms.
· Measure and record vital signs, collect and label specimens and perform all CLIA-waived/POCT testing.
Sort, screen and distribute incoming mail. Various clerical or medical activities in support of the departments.
Required Education and Training:
- Two years of related work experience, preferably in an Acute Care / Urgent Care clinical setting or equivalent and a high school level education; or an equivalent combination of experience/education.
- Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Registry of Medical Assistants.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Epic

Pay: $28.43 per hour
