Full job description
The Material Handler is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of materials and products. This role plays a crucial part in the warehouse operations, ensuring that materials are moved and stored safely.
Responsibilities and duties
- Cycle Counting - Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to verify stock accuracy
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and ensure proper stock levels are kept
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to update inventory and order status
- Report discrepancies between physical counts and system records to the Warehouse Supervisor
- Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse and manufacturing floor
- Load and unload products from delivery trucks, ensuring accuracy and inspecting for damage.
- Assist with receiving issues that arise (packings slips, COC, etc documentation)
- Assist with material returns as required (VRMA process)
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and moving products as required.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Report any quality issues to the appropriate department or supervisor.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Pick and pack products according to order specifications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare products for shipping, including labeling and wrapping.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires the right person to move, think and act quickly with a high level of accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Able to work in Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
- Good Basic Math and counting with accuracy
- Detail oriented and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to change direction based on changing priorities
- Carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) regularly
- Stand, walk, sit and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
