Full Job Description: Futures Inc.

Job Position: Baker

Reports to: Vice President of Social Enterprises or designee

Qualifications: 1. Previous bakery experience preferred

2. Previous experience in human services preferred

3. Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management

4. Strong attention to detail and time management

5. Passion for quality, safety and sanitation

6. Excellent communication and listening skills

7. Friendly, energetic attitude

8. Team player who will contribute to the positive culture of The
Kitchen

9. Ability to tolerate standing, walking for extended periods of time
(up to 5 hours)

10. Ability to lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

11. Must be well groomed

12. Must pass a background check

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

Lifting of kitchen equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. routinely required. Must be able to communicate clearly and possess the ability to meet multiple job demands in a busy environment. May be required to operate Agency vehicles and transport students/consumers. May be required to lift and/or restrain students/consumers or may be exposed to risk or injury from students/consumers with physically aggressive behavior.

Period of Employment: Part Time

Job Goals: Advance, develop, and monitor the business aspects of The Kitchen. Support students/consumers receiving services from Futures Inc.; establish a consistent management presence for all personnel and activities conducted for The Kitchen; provide administrative support for the Vice President of Social Enterprises. Executive Pastry Chef may interact with and directly accept assignments without additional divisional clearance from the President/CEO or their Designee. These assignments will be generally related to the business aspects of The Kitchen and may be initiated from but are not limited to Finance, Marketing, Senior Management

Job Responsibilities:

1. Works effectively with and maintains positive relationships with families, students/consumers

2. Follows student/consumer Lesson Plans

3. Participates in individual or group activities with students/consumers

4. Analyzes job requirements, sequences daily tasks, observes and records data, and provides training at The Kitchen at Futures

5. Alerts case managers and supervisor to needs/concerns of consumers

6. Completes assigned paperwork

7. Communicates with all appropriate parties in a timely manner

8. Recognizes and maintains a safe and healthy environment by following Federal and

State health code regulations

9. Displays basic knife skills, or the ability to learn basic knife skills / teach and model safe knife protocol

10. Performs any other delegated non-instructional responsibilities assigned by the Vice President of Social Enterprises

11. Transport assigned client to and from work.

12. Work as a 1:1 team with client to produce bakery products.

13. Monitor client goals and work with Supervisor to establish appropriate work accommodations to guarantee client success.

14. Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including cookies, cakes, pies, pastries etc. using precise methods and standards.

15. Manage the baking environment by monitoring oven temperature and baking times, and evaluating product against standards.

16. Meets production expectations

17. Keep work area clean, organized, and properly sanitized.

18. Resolve any problem and keep management informed about issues and problems as they arise.

19. Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

20. Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to team members, customers, and vendors.

21. Ability to follow directions and procedures; effective time management and organization skills.

22. Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour
