Patient Supply Group Specialist - Alexion Pharmaceuticals,Inc. (New Haven)

This is what you will do:

The PSG Specialist is responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining successful and mutually beneficial business relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Will work closely with Nurse Case Management Department and cross-functional partners in Global Supply Chain. They will be the primary point of contact for outside inquiries from healthcare facilities, Distributors and Pharmacies. The position requires strong interpersonal competencies, substantial experience with account management, the department, and exceptional knowledge of supply chain processes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Successfully managing key customer accounts with the highest proficiency, with outstanding objection handling and relationship-building skill and technique.
  • Review customer orders for compliance to Alexion’s internal program and ship product in accordance with established distribution models
  • Onboard new accounts with all necessary information required and maintain monthly outreach
  • Successfully manages after hours, weekends or holiday calls from HCP’s and coordinates with 3PL as needed.
  • Make sound decisions on acceptance or denial of returns, credits, and rebills based on Alexion’s policies.
  • Effectively manage inquiries and phone calls from internal and external customers to ensure complete and timely resolution.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with Specialty Pharmacies, Distributors, Physicians, Suppliers and Wholesalers.
  • Form solid professional and collaborative relationships with Case Managers and additional colleagues within Global Supply Chain.
  • Recognize and report any negative trends to management
  • Participate in and complete required pharmacovigilance training and Report any pharmacovigilant event within Alexion’s guidelines
  • Ensure 100% of prescribers are registered in Risk Evaluation Mitigation Strategy (REMS) specific program for all orders received
  • Being a positive role model and mentor to all colleagues while providing on-the -floor guidance and direction.
  • Modeling and promoting the value of PSG services, functions, and capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders and delivering with personal accountability.
  • Actively participates in 1 or more GSC projects and teams.
  • Performs Accounts Receivable processes and resolutions.

You will need to have:

  • 4 years of college or equivalent work experience with over 2 years of experience in Customer Relations settings. An overall understanding of the various functions within Customer service organizations, not of typical high-volume inbound call centers.
  • Experience in account management responsibilities pertaining to the service of both external and internal customers.
  • Ability to independently perform job function outside of business hours.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, multitask and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior SAP functional skills
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Knowledge of servicing both distributors and physicians is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successful performance and no history of weak performance.
  • Prior experience with following FDA regulations or FDA mandated programs
  • Six Sigma certification preferred
