Abbreviated Job Description:

Assist store management with daily store operations including the promotion of all aspects of the business including but not limited to buying, selling, pricing, and merchandising. Promote a high level of customer service by ensuring customers are assisted in an enthusiastic, timely, and knowledgeable manner.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Greet customer immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner. *

2. Become familiar with products, brands and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers’ needs. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by adding items to the close of the sale. *

3. Provide quality customer service to include assistance with purchases, suggestive selling and providing product information. *

4. Buy used and safe products according to the Children’s Safety Product Commission guidelines, reinforcing the customers’ purchases and sales to the store. Invite customer to return to the store to buy, sell, or trade and promote image of store concept. *

5. Price and ticket items appropriately based on pricing/buying guidelines. Restock store following merchandising plan. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedure. *

6. Develop proficiency in operating computerized sales tracking system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc. *

7. Follow non-negotiable standards. *

8. Receive payments from customers, operate cash register and credit card machine, provide customers with appropriate receipts and give appropriate change, as needed, for each transaction. *

9. Takes a proactive customer service approach by initiating conversations with customers to answer their questions and assist them with their needs. *

10. Handles merchandise returns and/or exchanges in accordance with store policy. *

11. Attends store meetings and training sessions as requested. *

12. Balances cash drawer and total currency sales each day. *

13. Places cash and transaction records into safe in accordance with store procedures on a daily basis with Supervisor. *

14. Answers telephone according to phone procedures in a professional and enthusiastic manner. *

15. Maintain a neat and orderly store at all times to include dusting and vacuuming. *

16. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures. *

17. Reports any theft, suspected theft, problems or discrepancies to management immediately.*

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour

Benefits: Flexible schedule

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are required to wear face masks. High traffic areas wiped down regularly

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)
