Full Job Description:

*** Our team is currently looking for a Direct Support Specialist near New Haven CT Must have experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities. ***

Schedule: full time, part time, per diem hours available

Responsibilities:

• Supporting individuals with activities of daily living (getting dressed, cooking, cleaning, bathing, toileting, etc.)
• Organizing activities and community outings
• Medication administration
• Doctors’ appointments
• Grocery shopping and running errands
• Deescalating situations and managing behaviors
• Communicating professionally with Nurses, Clinical Staff, Directors, and Supervisors

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License (3 Years)
• Experience working in the behavioral health field
• Experience working with individuals with development disabilities
• PMT (Preferred) - will train
• CPR/FA (Preferred) - will train

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• working in group homes: 1 year (Preferred)
• direct care: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CPR/First Aide cert (Preferred)
• PMT cert (Preferred)
• drivers license (Preferred)
