Prep Crew (FT/PT) - Garden Catering (New Haven)

 

Full Job Description:

We LOVE our nuggets and take great pride in serving fresh food daily to happy guests. As part of the Prep Crew, you’ll portion out various nuggets, sides, and sauce portions according to our recipes and daily Key Item Report. You’ll need basic knife skills for prepping produce and cutting raw chicken. You’ll make some sauces and dressings and you’ll keep different areas of the restaurant clean and organized. You will also have to wash some dishes and tools to maintain a clean workspace.

This job role would be great for seasonal, part-time work during the morning and daytime hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and practice safe food handling skills and cleanliness at all times. Clean as you go!
  • Be on time for your shift, in the correct uniform and proper shoes
  • Weigh out and portion nugget specials and sides according to different recipe amounts and prep quantities which are assigned daily based on sales.
  • Learn basic knife skills to prepare produce for salads and the line, and for cutting raw chicken
  • Write out food labels for every container that holds food for consumption
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize equipment and tools used; removing old labels, air-drying once washed, and store neatly in proper place in the kitchen
  • Sweep and mop the floors to maintain clean areas of the restaurant
  • Maintain a clean and organized walk-in and freezer with proper storage of food items with labels facing forward and organized dry storage areas.
  • Participate in consistent feedback conversations about your performance
  • Other duties or assignments not listed above but a Manager asks you to do.
