Colony Hardware is currently seeking a 1st Shift Inventory Control Associate to join our team!

Reporting to the Inventory Control Supervisor, the Inventory Control Associate is primarily responsible for supporting the inventory control function by ensuring that stock and stock levels are maintained properly through the direct flow of goods into, through and out of the organization.

Major Responsibilities
  • Runs daily inventory reports on item balance for every branch to update system and balance stock levels.
  • Maintains and runs previous day back order report daily through an Excel spread sheet.
  • Reviews back order report daily and resolves any discrepancies by physically checking stock levels on shelf.
  • Makes adjustments to correct stock if needed through the FACTS system.
  • Analyzes transfer exception report daily and reviews and physically makes adjustments on shelf as necessary.
  • Completes packing slip verification on a daily basis.
  • Runs a negative stock status report daily, reviews and adjusts on shelf if necessary.
  • Picks stock from shelves when processing daily reports.
  • Works closely with Purchasing and Accounting departments for paperwork review.
  • Occasionally stocks shelves with product.
  • Assists in off-site inventories as needed.
  • Works in the Receiving Department and assists in picking/packing orders in the absence of other associates.
  • Utlizes warehouse equipment such as forklift, cherry picker, and pallet jacks to assist with product movement
  • Performs cycle counts as needed.
  • Collaborates with various departments to ensure smooth flow of paperwork and products.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a warehouse or distribution center required.
  • Programs used:

  • Abilities
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize work and perform multiple tasks.
    • Analytical ability including basic math skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb stairs, stretch, and bend.
    • Ability to navigate websites and able to see, review, and interpret computer images and written documents.
    • Must have excellent time management, negotiation, critical thinking, decision making, and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading, and writing in the English language with the ability to converse verbally with others on the phone and/or in person.
    • Must have outstanding customer service skills with the ability to interpret customer needs as well as demonstrate a customer service mindset when dealing with internal and external customers.

Physical requirements include:

Lifting up to 100 pounds while demonstrating safety techniques

Moving about the warehouse and loading dock area majority of the day

Exiting and entering vehicles several times per day

Must be able to climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in small spaces

and various climates.

Equipment used include:

Desktop computer and mouse/tablet.

Telephone, cellphone, fax machine, GPS.

Forklift and motorized pallet jack.

Scanning equipment, such as RF scanners

Motor vehicles, such as vans and trucks.
