Public Space Attendant-Hotel Marcel -(NEW HAVEN)

The Hotel Marcel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

The Hotel Marcel is a historic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the mid-century modern Armstrong Rubber Company Building aka Pirelli Building, originally designed by Marcel Breuer in 1967. The building will be sustainable with LEED Platinum certification, solar power from the rooftop, parking canopy arrays to provide 100% of electricity for lighting, heating and cooling, electric car charging stations and much more. The hotel is slated to be the first Passive House certified hotel and the first net-zero energy hotel in the United States.

It has165 rooms, a full service restaurant, gallery, and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. True to the Tapestry brand style expect a unique boutique feel that combines local experiences, modern designs, and intimate service.


The Public Area Attendant is responsible of maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the public areas of the hotel including the back of house areas.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, meeting space, public restrooms, and public areas of the hotel.
  • Clean and maintain the appearance of the surrounding areas of the hotel, including the sidewalk, brass awning poles, signage, entrance and alley.
  • Deep cleaning of assigned areas of the hotel including the shampooing of rooms and public areas, window washing, hotel light fixtures, and guest elevators.
  • Clean and maintain the back of the house area, including the employee break room, the, the hotel laundry room, the compactor area, and the employee restroom.
  • Check and replenish your supplies and cleaning tools.
  • Greet each guest you see in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Quickly respond to guest requests in a timely and friendly matter.
  • Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
  • Return lost items found in guest rooms, hallways, or back of the house to the Housekeeping department as a lost and found.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


REQUIREMENTS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
